We had an amazing trip to York last week which included: a very long bus journey where we managed to finish our viking bracelets; an awesome archaeological where we touched fossilised poo; and a rollercoaster ride (not quite) around a viking settlement. Here are some of the highlights. We had a blast didn't we Year 5? Remember Stitch Head? Percy Jackson?Tag Rugby in the mud? Our trip to Newcastle and Gateshead? Nancy being stolen? The day I had a shave? Building bridges? Burning stuff? Ah.... the gold old days! Now it is 2018 and it is time to make some new memories (hopefully we will learn some things on the way too). Before we start our new novel and send out an exciting trip letter, let's take a look back at the highlights of the last four months of 2017.
We LOVE the slime in Year 5 as I'm sure you can tell. Watch this space (Updated weekly from now on by Mr Bake) for more photos from this term in year 5 including the Newcastle Gateshead trip, a crazy cultural collage, burning stuff, soda bread making and Golden Time with toilet roll. To end our Ancient Greece topic we were literally on the edge of our seats carrying out an experiment to recreate the fire of Hades house from our class novel of 'Percy Jackson.'
IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN. THIS YEAR WE ARE PERFORMING BABOUSKA.Today we finally painted our masks. We created our designs a few weeks ago after learning all about the history behind Theatrical masks. We made lots of mess on Tuesday when we created the template for our mask and today we were delighted when we found out that it was time to complete the project by painting them. We will be displaying the final products around our Greek Temple. The children were very proud of their work.
