Maths in Year 5 this week has been all about dividing a whole into equal parts called fractions. We have learnt to compare fractions, to add and subtract fractions and to use and apply our new found skills. If you are a member of our class and haven't had enough, or if you are a visitor to our blog who wants to test your skills, then why not try out some of these problems:
What an amazing couple of weeks we have had in Y5!
I loved hearing everyone's hopes and dreams for the future - everything from a 'tarmacer' to an 'auto engineer'! Truly inspiring stuff. Thanks everyone in Y5 for all your enthusiasm and hard work over the last two weeks. Your artwork, based on the B. Wurtz exhibition at the Baltic, is going to look incredible on display. I still can't believe how quiet you all were while walking around the gallery. In case you couldn't tell, I was terrified someone would break a priceless work of art, leaving me with a bill running into thousands of pounds. I must have held my breath for about 10 minutes until the last of you left the gallery. |
