Everyone learnt lots this afternoon when experimenting with conductors in order to create switches. They are looking to design a burglar alarm system for Wallace and Gromit to alert them if the Were Rabbit tries to steal their carrots!

Wow! Year 4 have shown superb peer assessing skills during our polishing lesson this morning. They were really thoughtful and gave critical and helpful advice to their table partner in how to improve their explanation writing. The class have been enjoying their football coaching PE lessons- we can see their dribbling skills improving each session! Everyone has worked extremely hard to write an exciting action scene in their cold write this morning.
WE had a great time investigating pitch in Science. We discovered that the longer the air column, the lower the note. Everyone enjoyed trying to produce sound by blowing across the top of the bottles. Some were better than others!!
This morning, the children had to solve a tricky jigsaw puzzle in Maths, which had symbols instead of digits. They had to think carefully about the digits and the patterns. Jack, Oliver, Kenzie and Chanelle worked so hard to solve the puzzle - working amazingly as a team! What a great first day we've had! We all thought about rules and why we have them. We read Shaun Tan's book 'Rules of Summer' and created some of our own 'Always' or 'Never' rules!
