Nursery have been so amazing that they filled their fuzzy jar this week....their request was for a pyjama party with party food! We had a fabulous time dancing and partying the morning away. A BIG thank you to parents for your donations.

What an exciting week...On Monday, we discovered fruit and vegetables tied up around the classroom....we spent some time thinking about who the culprit could be! On Tuesday, we discovered a trail of peas and the Evil Pea! He left us a book "Supertato" (about a superhero potato who is excellent at capturing evil peas!) . The Evil Pea challenged us to catch him...so we did and trapped him in a prison... On Wednesday, he escaped! Supertato arrived and pleaded for our help: we have spent the rest of the week making Wanted posters and creating our own Supertato characters to help catch the Evil Pea once and for all! Will we ever catch him? Will he ever stop being evil?! Will Supertato save the day?! Today, we celebrated the birthday of Queen Elizabeth ll. We were Kings and Queens for the day; making crowns and decorating them with jewels and sequins. We made birthday cards for the Queen and had scones for snack! This week in Reception, we welcomed two new members to our class. The children have managed to fill their marble jar by working together to be amazing. As a reward for this, we now have two fish as our class pet. The children are yet to name the fish. We are going to have a vote to decide upon their names. We will let you know what we decide.
Last half term, the Reception children were very busy preparing, planting and looking after our growing box. The children planted radish, cress, beans and carrots. They even made their own scarecrow to keep the birds away! The children check their plants on a daily basis. Last week, one of the children noticed that something amazing had happened and it was ready to pull out. Taking tips from one of our previous stories, 'The Enormous Turnip', we pulled and pulled until finally, out popped an enormous radish! The children had a lot of fun investigating the radish. They were very excited about what they had grown. The children asked if they could taste the radish... The responses from the children were very mixed...some children loved it and others used the word 'disgusting'. However, I was very proud because everyone had a try. We can't wait to see what grows next :-)
