So today we say goodbye to your children ! It has been a pleasure to teach each and every one of them. We have learned a lot and have been on a few adventures together. They are more than ready for the challenges in Yr 2 and we look forward to see them flourish as the years go on.

Today in school we had Art day. In Yr1 we took our inspiration from our latest topic and created some fantastic work!
First, we made a montage of 36 painted squares put together to recreate the Sanctuary Knocker. What do you think? Next we used clay to make a St Cuthbert's Cross. Once again it is time to prepare our Yr1 children for their move up to Yr 2!
They have spent a morning and two afternoons with Mrs Henderson and Mrs Fenwick getting to know them and getting used to their new classroom. They all returned with smiling faces so we are happy that they are happy!! Out history topic has been the life of St Cuthbert and his links to Durham Cathedral. We spent a fabulous day at the Catherdral learning all about its origin and history. The children got to dress up and reenact the life of Cuthbert. We hope you enjoy the photos! |
