As I walked into the trenches I felt sad and grumpy. It was damp, muddy and so cold I was shivering uncontrollably. I felt a tear trickle down my face, there was no time to be scared, I must combat my fear. I wished I was back home because I missed my mum and dad. I was very nervous because I had never done anything like that before.

What a powerful piece of writing. I was quite moved by the way you described the feelings of the soldier in the trenches, it was so realistic. Great use of adjectives chosen to capture the moment. I think I should have allowed you to write more than 5 sentences so you could describe what was going on, the sounds the sights and the smells. Great work.
