What a great start to our topic on WW1! I'd really like to thank Niamh and her family for sending in the WW1 medals belonging to her great great grandfather. It was amazing for the children to hold such a real piece of history. Also thanks to all of the other children who have carried out their research and brought family heirlooms in to school to share.
Apologies for a lack of pictures but my Ipad is now up and working so I will be posting some images of the amazing WW1 trenches the children have been modelling very soon. The paintwork, sandbagging and all of the other features look great. The attention paid by the children during the lessons has been a credit to them, they all seem to understand the horror of the First World War faced by those who fought in France and Belgium. The way they reflect upon the texts, images and other information has been lovely to see.
