That was the question on everyone's lips today. We looked at the opinion's of different people from Brazil and imagined how they would feel about the government's decision to host the World Cup. We adopted different character roles. One person in the group was a talk show host who interviewed Brazilian guests about whether Brazil should have the World Cup. We thought of lots of reasons for and against, using these ideas in our answers when interviewed.

We had to work together as a team, thinking about the colours which would work together. Here we are at work!
World Cup Fever spread around school today, and looks like it's here to stay for a while! We began finding out facts about Brazil. This week's challenge is something we may work on in class. Hope you all found a good goal to write about! (But maybe not Italy's second one last night!) Wherever you are in the world, I’m sure you cannot have missed all the action that is happening in South America! The prompt this week is:
…but that’s what happens in Brazil when… You can write about anything as long as your pieces of writing make sense. Make sure you go an visit and comment on at least two other posts and leave some supportive comments. We all love to get comments and make our work even better! Waterproof coat is essential (waterproof trousers, if possible)
4 T-shirts (long and short sleeved) 4 pairs of trousers (e.g. walking trousers, jogging bottoms, sports trousers – only 1 pair of JEANS for evenings only– they are uncomfortable when walking and difficult to dry) 2 jumpers / tracksuit tops / sweatshirts / fleece 2 pair of shorts (we live in hope!) 8 pairs of socks plus a couple of pairs of walking socks 4 sets of underwear 1 pair of strong walking shoes or boots (worn in please) - These could be trainers with a good grip 1 pair ordinary shoes / trainers –for around the village and evenings 1 pair of wellies 1 pair of slippers for indoor use Nightwear - pyjamas/nightdress/ dressing gown Towel - large and hand Wash bag with soap, flannel, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste Hair brush and/or comb Hat/cap - suntan cream (we hope!) and hat / gloves if weather is cool Reading book 1 cuddly toy! 1 plastic carrier bag (for dirty laundry) Torch (small hand held) A small back pack /rucksack A drinks bottle and lunch box – Children need a packed lunch on the Monday A hand held game (optional) but if taken, they are the responsibility of the child. We spent time looking at maps of Robin Hood's Bay. We had to try to describe any features and look at the symbols used.
