We have had a fabulous day investigating habitats at Gibside. First of all, we explored an area of woodland on our minibeast safari. Then, we headed over to the Lily Pond for our pond dipping activity. After lunch, we ventured down to the West Wood to build our own shelters (dens). Once our challenges had been completed we visited Strawberry Castle (park), before climbing back on the bus and heading back to school. What a busy day!

We have had an exciting first day! Year 2 received a special delivery, containing a letter and three tasks from the main character in their new class book. The children worked together to solve the mystery and to unravel the clues in order to work out what the new book would be. We look forward to sharing our learning with you, as we go on an adventure to ‘Where the Wild Things are’. Great team work!
