Do think about your story before you start to write. A plan can help make sure you get in all your ideas and that they make sense. Create a context - who? What? Where? When? Why? How? Remember to include: powerful vocabulary choices; a range of openers; connectives and punctuation for effect. Make sure you include the prompt in your story too! When you have written it, ‘mumble’ read it to yourself to check that it says what you think it does! *Try to avoid repetition.
