We all had the most amazing day today in Year 6. The sun shone, the birds were singing and we were spending the day on a walk appreciating the beautiful countryside where we live.

The entire school took part in a most amazing finale to an enrichment yet. There were so many activities for us to use our team-work skills, practise our independence and conquer more fears of heights. Every single member of the class gained so much today (including Mrs Hall who managed to climb up half of the climbing wall and Miss Armstrong who beat Mrs Hall in archery!) The children's behaviour and attitude was exemplary and they showed they are ready for their next step in education.
We all worked systematically to try to find the solution. Some of us used blocks, some diagrams and some used numbers. Once we had the solution, some children tried to look for patterns and try to generate a formula. We had an amazing day trying to survive on a desert island after being shipwrecked. It was a fantastic opportunity to work with friends in Year 2. A huge thank you to Heather and John (and then Rob!) for providing us with some wonderful activities, including building shelters, filtering water, making and baking bread, drinking hot chocolate after creating tripods for the camp fire, eating fish and building a raft. This created memories which will last a lifetime. |
