I can't take any credit for the idea - Thanks Literacy Shed - but, the children worked extremely hard to create their own effective narration for the advert. We have loved our World War 1 learning and this final piece of work showed how much this has had an impact on our writing. Pic Collages to follow! As I celebrated my birthday I opened the best present ever it Was wrapped in red wrapping; inside was a cage containg a cyberion husky! When I when to stroke him he looked at me like he was a special one so I decided to call him Harly the dog. Later that day when my friends came over he looked extremely nervous. Josh my friend looked at him strangly, Harly started to make a growling nose so Josh ran home as all of us were having fun at the party.
One strange Christmas Eve at Hoovile. James and Gorgie were going to bed when a strange 'BANG CRASH BOOM!!' Came from outside, Georgie stayed in the warm quiet house because she was too tired and nervous. Meanwhile James carefully tiptoed out the front door and he couldn't believe his eyes it was Santa. He asked ' Why are you here Santa?' He replied ' I ran out of fuel.'
James ran to the garage, grabbed the bottle of red super fuel and handed it to Santa. James waved Santa bye, and had a mini celebration while walking back in the house. It was Christmas Day, I was nervous if I hadn't got any presents. Me, Mam, Dad and my sister opened the door. We saw lots and lots of presents from red and blue wrapping paper. I noticed a strange red present with my name on it when I opened it I saw a black and blue bike. Unforchantly I couldn't go out and rid it becaus of the snow. Instead me and my friends made an igloo it was a massing. Then I went to my grandmas house in celebration of Christmas. Over all I think this is the Christmas ever!
I woke up one morning it was pouring down with rain! Not a soul to be seen. Slowly I jumped out of bed and opened my red curtains. As I walked down the stairs a strange shadow appeared in front of me and more and more little shadows.
“Jill! Jill! Its my birthday its my birthday time to have a celebration,” Chloe shouted (Jill’s little sister). “Oh…” Jill trembled in shock she mumbled “I don’t have anything I forgot!” She ran to her room and zoomed past her mum. “Jill looks nervous for Chloe’s party,” Mum said to dad. I am so proud of my class, as well as the entire KS2, during today's Christmas performances. They were awesome and I couldn't have asked any more of them. They showed what can be achieved with time and effort. A real credit to the school.
This is the last prompt for 2014! For the last week we have 5 words. They must all go into your piece but can be in any order. They are: … OPENED CELEBRATION STRANGE RED NERVOUS … We used the Sainsbury's Christmas advert as it linked to our work on WW1. A range of vocabulary was developed to describe the multi-sensory setting. It was one stormy night in Ireland, Captain Jon William he knew it would be a struggle to guide his magnifiersent ship through the rocks, in the fog, wind and waves. So he swiftly but carefully guided him and his crew through the rocks. All of a sudden, a great big wave came and knocked the boat into the rocks. Jon's ship quickly became flooded with freezing cold water! Jon and his crew made a lucky escape. Luckily the ship had no cargo. Well, the ship is still there in Ireland rusting in the rocks!
