Our chef cooked some delicious and healthy Brazilian dishes in front of the children. The children really enjoyed the demonstration. We even got to taste some too. The stew was very tasty. What an amazing day meeting different animals that live in Brazil.
We got to touch and, sometimes, hold the animals. Jay brought a meerkat, python, lizards, scorpions, frog, toad and a spider! This morning, Mr Knighton asked for an important assembly. He told us that the World Cup trophy, currently at our school, had been stolen! We looked for evidence and made "wanted" posters showing what we thought the robber might look like. Reception Class did us all proud this morning. They were fantastic while performing their final assembly as Reception Class. They have grown up so much since September. Well done everyone!
This week in Reception class we have had great fun taking part in lots of activities and workshops relating to Brazil and the World Cup. We have been Samba dancing, playing futsal and creating some works of art during our Grafitti street art workshop. Nursery had the opportunity to take part in a Samba drumming workshop. We played different Brazilian instruments and copied simple repeated rhythms. We also danced to Samba music. As part of our Brazilian enrichment topic, Nursery took part in a Futsal workshop this morning. We learned how to dribble the ball and score goals! We really enjoyed it! This afternoon, the rest of our Nursery children took part in their first assembly. Same assembly, but an entirely different performance given by such wonderful personalities within our class. Another awesome assembly! |
