This week, we filled our "fuzzy jar" and to celebrate we chose to have a pirate and princess themed party. We played party games (some of us won prizes) and we had some party food. We all looked awesome!

NURSERYHere we are squiggling and wiggling! Apologies for the poor sound quality!
We have had an amazing week this week in Reception, topped off with a very fun Friday where we had our very first 'Marble Jar Party!'. What have we been up to this week? We have been working on our maths skills, counting different amounts, recognising numerals and ordering numbers. We have also had so much fun with phonics, learning new phonemes and then trying to use what we have learnt in our own work. The children have been talking about the weather this week and have noticed that it has been super windy! This has made our work outdoors very interesting indeed. Some children were so inspired by the wind that they decided to make their own kites to see how high they would fly!
SQUIGGLEYou may have heard your child talk about Squiggle! "Squiggle while you Wiggle" is a programme used to help your children begin to make marks and write! We do these movements on a large scale first, as it is important that we can co-ordinate our body, hand and arm movements before we attempt to write. It is great fun and we love dancing to different songs each day. This week after our Squiggle warm up, we practised our "up and down" and "side to side" movements whilst washing the windows! ELMER BISCUITSThis week, we made Elmer biscuits! (We have been reading the story of "Elmer" the elephant in class).
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our SNACK FUND so far, as it helps us make these activities possible. The children gain so much from them! :) |
