Today, we had a visit from PC Hodge (Our Chair of Governors). She talked to us about how the police can help us.
We also talked about stranger danger and the importance of knowing our address/where we live.

This morning, Reception class had their first French lesson! This will happen on a weekly basis. The children learn the language through songs. This morning we sung "Bonjour" which means "hello." This morning, Nursery spent some time exploring sounds outdoors using sticks as beaters. We talked about loud and quiet sounds. Today, we had a visit from a local fire station to tie in with our topic of People Who Help Us. We tried on the fireman's helmet which was really heavy! We sat in the fire engine and had a try of the water hose! We had such a great time and learned a lot! This morning, along with the rest of school, our Nursery children made a poppy and planted it outside on our poppy field. We also took part in the two minutes silence at 11am. Nursery and Reception also made a poppy wreath using our handprints. This can be found in our school hall. This week one of our parents brought in her pet gecko to show the children. We were all fascinated and asked some really good questions about it. It was called Buzz and it liked to eat crickets!! Today we made chive dip using natural yogurt and fresh chives. We dipped our carrot sticks in- it was delicious! |
