This afternoon, Year 5 walked down to Beamish Museum to meet Helen from GMTV, in order to film a feature on children's play, which will be broadcast in the morning! The children had fun playing traditional games and were interviewed about the different types of games they enjoy playing. The feature is part of Save the Children's 'Den Building Week' which will be launched tomorrow. Research has suggested that fewer children today play outdoors and that many no longer know how to play because they are becoming more dependent on technology. However, Year 5 have certainly proved this to be a myth! Tune in between 6am and 7am to see the report.

That looks like an interesting comparison. I loved making dens when I was little. At school I loved to play hopscotch, skipping and chucks and jacks. Thank you for bringing back some happy memories.
