Here we are at the end of another half-term! The children have once again produced fantastic work which will be showcased below in our class slideshow.
We have covered all sorts of art this term which is displayed around our classroom and in the coridoor outside. From Van Gogh's 'Sunflowers' to all types of art inspired by Nature, the classroom is bursting with colour and fantastic interpretations of styles.
In Literacy we have learned how to write instructions. Some homework involved the baking of cakes (which then found their way to class, yum yum!) . Again, the standard and effort put into homework has been amazing so well done Year 1.
Numeracy this term was all about capacity. We have learned about measuring liquids and some of the measurements used ie: ml, litres etc.
To tie in with our topic 'Growing' we visited High Crane Lodge farm. The children planted peas and potatoes as well as learning about the process of composting.
They met two huge horses, two spotty pigs and three assorted hens, learning how they fed, slept and ate all day long.
Next term will be just as busy but for now have a lovely holiday and see you in June!!
Mrs Bolton and Mrs Craig.
