Today we began an investigation to find out the different conditions a plant will grow in. We are finding out if seeds will grow without soil, whether they will grow in the cold, whether they will grow in the dark or whether they will grow without water.
Take a look at our pictures to see the beginning of our experiment. We used our maths skills to read the measurements on a ruler, a measuring jug and a set of scales to record the length, weight and volume of the items we used. Then we used our literacy skills to write clear predictions about what we think will happen to our plants using the conduction 'because' to explain our reasons.
Together we planted a class plant which has compost, light, water and warm air, Oliver said "This one will grow the best because it has everything it needs to grow." We will have to wait a few weeks to find out if he's correct.
