What a busy few weeks...
It has been a very busy time in Reception over the last two weeks. We have not stopped being 'Busy Bees' and we have been having so much fun!
First, when we were moving our cardboard boxes around, we found a little visitor...a slippery, slimy slug! The children were incredibly interested in the patterns on its back and the trails it was leaving behind. The children worked together to put the slug into the magnifier to take a closer look.

Later in the week we were very distracted by the sound of the rain on the roof of our classroom. We were trying to think of words to describe the rain. To help us, we lay down on the floor, closed our eyes and listened carefully to the sound of the rain hitting the roof.
Next we went outside to stand in the rain, thinking about what we could hear and feel. The children then decided that they wanted to make their own instruments that sounded like rain. They used beads and rice to create the rain sound effect and then decorated their instruments to make them look amazing!
