Well done to our final stars of the week for the spring term. It was great to hear how amazing so many of the children had been this week. My favourite reason this week was for Leo, who makes Mrs Bolton happy every single day!
Fantastic singing by the whole school. It's great to hear the enthusiasm and see the wonderful behaviour of our children. They are a real credit to the school, their families and the community. The children were excited by two pheasants chasing each around the school field at playtime this morning. They seemed to be battling over who owned the field - it's fortunate the Year 5 and 6 children weren't playing football there! We are lucky to have wonderful grounds, on the edge of open countryside. Well done to everyone who was nominated for their work, attitude, behaviour or just for being fantastic. Well done to our stars of the week for this week. Great to hear about your achievements in our celebration assembly. The children have worked with Lee Ferry all week to paint an 'aspirations wall' in the school hall. The wall will be a permanent reminder of our children's dreams and goals as they move through school. On Thursday and Friday, the Friends of Shield Row served afternoon tea to children with their mums, grandmothers and aunties for Mothers' Day. There was a wonderful atmosphere in the hall and everyone seemed to enjoy the cream scones, cakes, biscuits and drinks. I even managed to have tea with my own mum! Thanks to the Friends for their brilliant work in school.
What a brilliant World Book Day! The children looked fantastic in their Alice in Wonderland costumes. I've never seen as many white rabbits in one place. Thanks so much to parents for dressing the children. It must have been very difficult to find 200 costumes linked to one book - we are all very grateful for your support. |
